What’s new in detail
We’ve expected it for 3 years and finally starting from 01/08/2023 electronic visa will be put into practice! This universal electronic visa will be valid on the whole territory of the Russian Federation. Citizens of 52 will be able to use this new visa! Here is the full list of the countries:

Soon other 3 countries will be added to the list: Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar.
All you need is to apply for the visa on the web-site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation: https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru or via mobile app indicated on the same web-site.
You should apply for the Russian electronic visa not later than 4 working days prior to the supposed arrival day to Russia. To the application request digital face photo and scan with the data of the machine-readable passport should be attached. Nothing else is needed!
The validity of the electronic visa is 60 days from its date of issue and it permits to stay in Russia up to 16 days from the arrival date. Its cost should be not more than 52 USD/pax.
Electronic visa will be valid for arrivals via airports, ports and land borders according to the agreed list of passport control points (total 92 check-points).
