Northern Light Hunting in Murmansk

In the morning tourists will be transferred to the Teriberka village. The village became famous after the movie “Leviathan”. And you will see the reason why. The place itself is astonishing: breathtaking desolate landscapes, the cemetery of old ships, and seacoast that never gets frozen. If there is enough snow, tourists will have a chance to ride on a snowmobile closer to the coastline. After some time in the remote tale, tourists will be taken back to Murmansk.

Late in the evening, the program continues with an amazing tour called “Hunting a northern light”. Northern lights or how locals call it “Aurora” is a unique phenomenon that can be more likely seen there during the polar night. Usually, polar light can be seen from the middle of September till the end of March. Nevertheless, there is no guarantee for this phenomenon to appear, some people can wait for several days while others are lucky enough to wait for some hours. That’s why the tour is necessary to augment your chances and catch the light.

The third day of our program will be even tighter. Tourists will visit the Siberian husky farm where they will have a chance to try the traditional lunch of Saami – indigenous people of the Kola Peninsula, be acquainted with some traditions of their life such as Saami folk group performance, experience the dogsled and the reindeer sleigh ride, toured by the Saami settlement with their traditional tipies and buildings, play traditional winter games to keep guests warm and fish on the ice. After such a busy day tourists will head to the next city of our route – Kirovsk.

The third day of our program will be even tighter. Tourists will visit the Siberian husky farm where they will have a chance to try the traditional lunch of Saami – indigenous people of the Kola Peninsula, be acquainted with some traditions of their life such as Saami folk group performance, experience the dogsled and the reindeer sleigh ride, toured by the Saami settlement with their traditional tipies and buildings, play traditional winter games to keep guests warm and fish on the ice. After such a busy day tourists will head to the next city of our route – Kirovsk.

Now you can explore the city by yourself and do some last-minute shopping. Then you will be transferred to the airport. Now it’s time to say goodbye to Russia. Hope to see you again!
