1st day of the itinerary

Welcome to the Baltic States

This day you arrive at the capital of Lithuania, the city of Vilnius. Our professional driver will await you in the airport arrivals area and will take you to the hotel. This day allows you to have a rest or to take a walk on your own in the magnificent city.

Vilnius is the capital and the largest metropolis of Lithuania, one of the most charming cities not only of the Baltic States but of all Europe. About 40% of the total area of Vilnius is occupied by green plantings, which makes it one of the most «green» cities on the continent. First mentioned in 1323, now the city combines advanced modern infrastructure and ancient architecture, with a mixture of Baroque, Renaissance and Gothic styles keeping the history of coexistence of many nationalities and cultures – Lithuanians, Jews, Belarusians and Poles. At the same time, creative industries, information technology, restaurant business and club life are actively developing here.

About the  Baltic States

Three countries coexist on the shores of the Baltic Sea in northern Europe – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. They are called the Baltic States. These countries have a lot in common: the capitals are medieval cities noted by UNESCO, and the countries were once part of the USSR. Nevertheless, they are completely different, each country has its own unique flavor, and has preserved its original traditions. Estonia is a real Northern Europe, Lithuania tends to Poland, and Latvia is still at a crossroads, but with European features.

There are many interesting and well-preserved or carefully restored castles, churches, palaces. The cultural life is in full swing here all year round – exhibitions, festivals, concerts. The nature of this wonderful land captures the imagination. The endless beaches of the Baltic Sea adjacent to pine forests are a favorite place of rest. Furthermore, the climate is very pleasant : summer’s not too hot, and winter’s moderately cold.
