1st day of the itinerary

Kremlin, Chack ChackMuseum and Kazan Arbat

Welcome to Kazan! The city stands on the Great Volga River, and can be reached from Moscow for 1.5 hours by plane, the distance between these 2 cities is 850 km. The program on Day 1 is rather tight, therefore tourists should arrive early in the morning (till 9 am) or the day before.

In the morning we are glad to offer the City tour. We will enter Kazan Kremlin, the Kul Sharif Mosque, which is the symbol of Kazan, and the Annunciation Orthodox Cathedral, situated not far from the Mosque. This excursion will convince us that Christianity and Islam exist side-by-side in a very friendly way here. Later we will visit the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, and see Tatar national weapons, jewelry, and archaeology.

In the afternoon we will visit the Chack Chack Museum. In this amazing museum, tourists will get acquainted with national Tatar desserts and drinks, especially sweet ‘chak-chak’, which represents balls of dough, baked in honey. Moreover, guests will have the opportunity to taste Tatar sweets and drink tea from a samovar.

We will end this wonderful day with a leisurely walk along Bauman street, widely-known as “Kazan Arbat”, a major street of Kazan, which tourists find very delightful and crowded.
